Elimination Name Picker
Everyone starts on the board. A spotlight sweeps across the names, marks one, and they're out, until a single survivor remains.
The countdown hits 0.0 the moment the last name is revealed. The final cuts take a bigger share of the time for suspense.
About the Elimination Name Picker
Names are removed one by one until a single survivor is left. Choose Auto-play to let the board eliminate names on a timer, or Click to cut to remove them yourself, building the tension as you go. Set the time until the survivor is revealed to suit your lesson.
Ways to use it in class
- Run a last-one-standing game for choosing a winner.
- Narrow a long list down to a small group for a task.
- Create a dramatic reveal for an award or shout-out.
- Teach the idea of elimination rounds in a maths or logic lesson.
A lesson idea
Use click-to-cut to let students take part. Hand the mouse around the class so each child removes one name, then reveal the survivor together. It turns a single pick into a shared activity, and the final names left in the list make a handy shortlist when you need several volunteers.
Good to know
Reset the board to run the same list again. The survivor is selected fairly; the order of eliminations is just the presentation. Projector mode switches to bigger, higher-contrast graphics so the back row can see the result.
Questions teachers ask
- What is the difference between auto-play and click to cut?
- Auto-play runs by itself on a timer. Click to cut lets you or a student remove each name.
- Can I get more than one winner?
- Run it again with the survivors, or use the Team Generator for groups.
