Privacy Policy

Pick & Race is a free set of classroom name-picker tools. This page explains what information is and is not collected when you use the site.

Names you enter

The names and lists you type into the pickers are processed in your browser to run the animation. They are not sent to our servers and are not stored after you close or reload the page. The "no repeats" history is also kept only while the page is open.

What the site stores on your device

The site saves one small setting in your browser's local storage: whether you have muted sound effects. It contains no personal information. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Advertising and cookies

This site is free and is supported by display ads served by third-party ad networks. The ads come from Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. These networks and their partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, which can include ads based on your earlier visits to this or other websites.

• You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a content blocker, to limit ad tracking.
• You can opt out of personalized Google ads at Google Ads Settings, and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
• Ad networks have their own privacy policies and are responsible for how they handle data collected through their ads.

Third-party services

To load the pages we use Google Fonts for typefaces, and one tool (Duck Race, PixiJS edition) loads open-source libraries from the cdnjs content delivery network, and our ad network (Google AdSense) loads its ads from its own servers. The site is hosted on Vercel, which, like most hosts, may keep standard server logs such as IP address and browser type for security and operations. These providers have their own privacy policies.

Children

The site is made to be used by teachers and students. We do not ask for accounts, names, emails or any other personal information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Teachers and parents who have questions about advertising and children can contact us using the details below.
